Camping stoves is a general term for camp grills or propane grills that are used to prepare food while camping, hiking or backpacking. It is a catch-all phrase but there are differences in how camping stoves work and how much they cost. Not everyone likes to use all types of camping stoves. It is best to check out the many different varieties before choosing one. There are also very light devices that have a little fuel canister that runs by sending the ignition fluid through a cable to the “fire”.
Grills are the type most people are familiar with, but anymore, you can find camping stoves that are very similar to gas stove ranges that are in kitchens. There are one, two and even four burner camping stoves that can be purchased. Of course, the price range varies between the units also, from just a few dollars to several hundred dollars. Where to store the propane or other camping stove fuel is something else to consider. You never want to store propane in a car while traveling.
Camp stoves can be elaborate or simple and much of it depends on how many of the comforts of home cooking are desired while camping. Many prefer just to start up a grill or build a fire and rig up some sort of home-made camping stove on which to hold their coffee pots and pans. Seasoned campers often use the same camping stove technique every time but some who only camp on occasion may like to experiment a little. The further away from civilization you are, the more you will rely on a camping stove to prepare some semblance of a meal. No two campers are the same and neither are camping stoves. One person may use them to cook the fish they caught that day and yet someone else may use it to heat up a can of spaghetti.
