Camping Tent

The camping tent is used during outdoor adventures to keep the water and bugs out and the campers comfortable and safe. There was once a time when a camping tent was nothing more than a few sheets of canvas with tent stakes and poles holding the entire thing together. Today, camping tents include bedrooms, built in tables and spaces for living rooms and bathrooms. Multiple unit camping tents can be used for large families or long camping vacations. These multiple units can be joined together to create more of a camping house than a camping tent. Tents are traditionally sold based on the number of people the camping tent will sleep. Most camping tents start at four persons and range up to nine persons or more.

There are several different styles of camping tent. The first is the pop up tent. These tents are often called turbo tents because they can be assembled in just a few moments. The tents folds down for easy storage and require only a few stabilizer poles be locked before they are popped up into the camping tent shape. These tents are not as sturdy as long term tents, but work perfectly for a shorter vacation. The more standard tent will require two or more persons for assembly and can take as long as an hour to erect. This camping tent tends to be created from stronger and heavier materials which are the reason the pop up technology cannot be used.

The third type of camping tent is the SUV or truck camping tent. These units are attached to the back end of the SUV or the open bed of a pickup truck. The units will vary in size based on the size of the pickup truck and require a floor pad be placed in the bed of the truck for sleeping comfort. The SUV camping tent is ideal for camping during the colder months. The unit attaches to the open back end of the SUV, allowing the space of the trunk to be used for sleeping or storage. Most camping tents can be connected to each other via the door entry for groups who want more space as the camping tent measures occupants by the number of sleeping bags that can be placed on the camping tent floor.
